One of the major outcomes of the STEM Alliance, which is managed by Semta - the not-for-profit employer-led organisation, is The STEM Exchange. This is designed to forge direct links between education and industry and has been granted further funding to expand its features and take up.
The evaluation report noted that measures of the success of The STEM Exchange were: that more than 1000 businesses across the country have signed up to The STEM Exchange – to engage directly with educators about their respective needs; The creation of over 200 teaching and training resources with online access; and the participation of over 1100 practitioners in CPD Share Workshops.
Al Parkes, Semta Chief Operating Officer said: “The STEM Alliance has made a significant impact opening up new channels of communication and access to powerful resources – which will help recruit and retain high quality teaching staff.

A new feature of The STEM Exchange is The STEM Experience (www.stemexperience.co.uk) which allows employers to offer work experience opportunities to people of all ages.
