‘Breakthrough’ voltage accelerometers specified up to 185°C
A new range of high temperature piezoelectric voltage accelerometers has been unveiled by UK firm DJB Instruments.
Said to represent a significant breakthrough in vibration sensor technology, the devices are specified to work in high temperature environments up to 185°C, although a further increase to 225°C is expected soon.
"We're confident this device will make a big difference to engineers where they are faced with the challenges of collecting data from high temperature environments," said Paul Hunter, managing director, DJB. "This is a step change in what is now possible."
The new accelerometers are targeted for use in industries such as oil and gas, energy, aviation, aerospace and automotive.
According to Hunter, the breakthrough means that tests in challenging high temperature environments will be significantly easier, cheaper and more reliable in the future.
