Brunel University design project awarded EU funding
Brunel University has been awarded a European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) grant to develop a two year engineering design project targeted at growing the London economy.
The project – called Co-Innovate – will be delivered in partnership with Designplus and seeks to promote design-led innovation, while providing guidance to 150 London based SMEs to help new product and service developments.
Participating companies will be equipped with open innovation techniques and access to Brunel researchers, laboratories, testing and prototyping facilities.
"This project builds on the outstanding work of our design department and reinforces the University's position as a driver of business interaction and innovation in West London and beyond," commented Andrew Ward, Co-Innovate project director. "Through the project we will be able to equip a range of forward-looking SMEs with the up-to-date design thinking that will enhance their competitiveness."
Co-Innovate will be launched on 27 November 2012.
