The arrival of .DESIGN coincides with the recent roll out of other new web extensions, offering more choice beyond the handful of TLDs that existed before, such as .com, .co.uk or .net. Top Level Design secured the rights from internet governing body ICANN to manage and run the extension.
King continued: "A great .com domain is extremely hard to find or unreasonably expensive, but new domains have benefits beyond just availability. A domain that speaks to your vertical industry, like .DESIGN, allows for cleaner presentation on marketing materials and generally makes for a shorter, more brandable domain name."
