Driver unit offers improved production efficiency
NSK has announced the development of a new driver unit capable of compact, high speed positioning.
The MECHATROLINK-III is designed to achieve high speed synchronised operation using high speed communication (100Mb/s). This capability is also said to make it possible to achieve integrated control of multiple motors and peripheral devices.
Potential applications for the device include semiconductor and lcd panel manufacturing equipment, electronics and automotive parts, lithium ion secondary batteries and medical product packaging.
Product features include flexible control switching - which is said to result in advanced rotational operation - and reduced wiring. The device is designed to help improve productivity and shorten start-up time. It is expected to be available in March.
