It is, claims the company, the smallest and lightest X-ray unit in the market. A prototype was presented at last year's ECR congress.
The equipment may be required to fit into tight spaces. It is equipped with X-Tech Cell battery technology which can be charged in only a few minutes, rather than the conventional 12 hours. To completely charge the battery takes two hours, but should it run out of power, it can be charged in in just a few minutes. The long charging times of traditional devices require hospitals to have a constant overcapacity of mobile X-ray units, a cost which can now be reduced.
Certification of the equipment is under way. A full-scale launch is planned for later this year.
Mobile x-ray equipment reduces size and weight
Swedish company Solutions for tomorrow have developed mobile X-ray equipment, where both the size and the charging time of the batteries have been minimised.
