NASA Set to Document Firefly Aerospace's First Robotic Commercial Moon Landing

The Blue Ghost lunar lander is expected to land near Mare Crisium, located on the northeast quadrant of the near side of the Moon, as part of NASA’s Commercial Lunar Payload Services initiative.

The Blue Ghost mission will provide valuable insight into the Moon’s environment and test technology to support future astronauts landing safely on the surface, including missions to Mars. It will carry a suite of 10 NASA scientific investigations to further NASA's goals for lunar exploration.

As part of the Commercial Lunar Payload Services initiative, Firefly Aerospace will play a pivotal role in NASA's plan to send science investigations and technology demonstrations to the lunar surface. These efforts will also help prepare for human exploration of the Moon and beyond.

Live coverage of the mission will air on NASA+ at 2:30am EST. NASA and Firefly Aerospace will host a news conference to discuss the mission and the scientific opportunities that lie ahead, offering new insights into future lunar and Martian exploration.
