New social capabilities added to AutoCAD WS 1.5
Design Software specialist Autodesk has added new social collaboration capabilities to the latest version of its AutoCAD WS platform.
The enhancements offer new workflows that help streamline the design development, review and approval process by incorporating functionality made popular by leading social media platforms.
"We have taken the best things about the social web and infused them into the design process," said an Autodesk representative. "We recognised the need to provide tools that help you collaborate with your team in your own time in an intuitive and streamlined way. With this new release we have added the Design Feed to both the mobile and the web app. This is a major leap forward for AutoCAD WS giving users an in-drawing, interactive feed that enables context-specific posts and responses to turn your drawing into a living document."
AutoCAD WS 1.5 is designed to take AutoCAD beyond the desktop, allowing users to view, edit and share AutoCAD drawings with almost anyone, anywhere using their iOS or Android mobile device or web browser. In addition, the new Design Feed app tracks and captures the evolution of designs across multiple collaborators and stakeholders, all within the design itself.
Designers can also add an image to a post in the Design Feed to further illustrate their point and drive the discussion forwards.
