NSK's new plant meets demand for precision products
Bearings specialist NSK is establishing a new production subsidiary in China, to meet the market growth for precision components, such as ball screws and linear guides, in China and other emerging economies.
Shenyang NSK Precision is wholly owned by NSK, and is being established to expand NSK's precision machinery business, supplying both the Chinese and global markets.
The subsidiary is due to start operating in April 2010. The plant extends to 70,000m2, with an additional area for expansion of 36,000m2 (provisional). Initially it will house 600 employees - all involved in the manufacture of NSK Precision products.
An NSK spokesperson said: "We are striving to implement global sales expansion through active deployment to target industries and regions, and by employing product strategies that match the requirements of each demand area. In addition, by continuing measures to improve productivity, such as lowering overall lead times, we will further advance the capability of our production structure to respond quickly and flexibly to fluctuations in demand."
