PDD’s triple success at Innovation & Design Excellence Awards
London design agency PDD has scored triple success at this year's Innovation & Design Excellence Awards
London design agency PDD has scored triple success at yesterday’s Innovation & Design Excellence Awards (iDEA).
The Hammersmith-based company scooped top prizes in the Consumer and B2B product innovation categories, as well as being named overall winner.
Now in their third year, the Innovation & Design Excellence Awards recognise and reward the key role played by mechanical and electronic design engineers in the creation of new and successful products. The awards are organised by Eureka and New Electronics (part of Findlay Publications), and Cranfield School of Management.
The judges recognised PDD’s all-round abilities in mechanical engineering, electronics and industrial design, as well as its unique offering in market research. PDD has recently created an incubation arm and spun off a medical device company.
One of the highlights was its work in helping US company Vocollect to develop a wireless device to help ‘internet pickers’ find stock in warehouses (pictured).
Other winners and nominees were: Altro, Chas A Blatchford, Cambridge Design Partnership, Crowcon Detection Instruments, Industrial Design Consultancy and Thermoteknix. Category sponsors included Sagentia, Cambridge Consultants and the Electronics Leadership Council.
