Sensirion unveils new range of humidity and temperature sensors

The SHT10, SHT11 and SHT15 devices combine sensor elements and signal processing to provide a fully calibrated digital output. The implemented applied CMOSens technology is said to guarantee excellent reliability and long-term stability. A capacitive sensor element has been implemented to measure relative humidity, while temperature is measured by a band-gap sensor. Both sensors are coupled to a 14bit analogue to digital converter and a serial interface circuit. This, according to the company, results in superior signal quality, a fast response time and insensitivity to external disturbances. Each SHT1x is individually calibrated in a precision humidity chamber. The calibration coefficients are programmed into an OTP memory on the chip. These coefficients are used to internally calibrate the signals from the sensors. The two-wire serial interface and internal voltage regulation is said to allow for easy and fast system integration.
