Drone technology has seen a surge of interest in recent years in sectors like insurance and risk assessment, allowing operators to get detailed feedback from areas that would be too risky for humans to access. Aeolos aims to take this technology further, allowing large payloads of supplies to be delivered as well as the ability to rescue people from seemingly inaccessible areas.
With natural disasters seemingly increasing, as well as the vulnerabilities and hazards recently shown in high rise buildings, Smallfry says that technology like the Aeolos drone could already be saving lives.
When asked about the inspiration behind Aeolos, Smallfry’s CEO, Steve May-Russell said: “When others ask ‘why?’, we simply ask, ‘why not?’”
Smallfry will be displaying the Aeolos drone at the Engineering Design Show 2017, 18-19 October, Ricoh Arena, Coventry.
