SolidWorks adds 200 new functions to CAD software
Dassault Systèmes' SolidWorks has announced the latest version of its CAD software, SolidWorks 2012, which now includes more than 200 new functions.
According to the 3d solutions specialist, improvements have been made in areas such as assembly and drawing capabilities, built-in simulation, design costing, routing, image and animation creation and product data management.
The updated software has been optimised to enable engineers to automate the design functions they use most often, improve performance and quality, change product development processes for faster designs and extend support for collaboration and team connectivity.
"SolidWorks 2012 focuses on the areas that will help our customers drive their businesses to higher productivity and profitability," said Austin O'Malley, executive vp, R&D, SolidWorks. "It also marks the 20th release of our CAD software, remaining true to the mission of helping users transform innovation into business success."
