An inspiring mix of productivity-boosting manufacturing innovations, game-changing STEM initiatives and impressive industry leaders were amongst the winners at the inaugural Engineering & Manufacturing Awards, which came to its conclusion last night (13th September) in central London.
Organised by the engineering portfolio of leading publishing and events business MA Business, the EMAs were Launched to celebrate the projects, teams, people and companies at the heart of the UK engineering and manufacturing sectors.
Attended by more than 300 professionals from across industry, this year’s winners’ party (held at London’s salubrious Grosvenor Square Marriott Hotel) was an impressive celebration of the breadth and variety of UK industry, and saw firms across the value chain - from well-known OEMs to the unsung heroes of the UK’s vibrant SME community - receive an array of awards.

Amongst the winning projects and teams, leading automotive consultancy Horiba Mira took two category prizes (Consultancy of the year and Digital Innovation) whilst this year’s individual awards went to AES Engineering’s Chris Rea (Net zero champion), PP Control and Automation’s Sophie Young (Rising Star) and the same company’s CEO Tony Hague, who went home with the Industry Leader trophy. Meanwhile Petalite’s Dr Stavros Pressas won the Engineering Innovator award.

Our shortlist - which was bristling with inspiring tales of best practice and innovation - provided myself and the rest of the judging panel with plenty of reasons to feel very positive about the future of UK industry.”
