Course to be held at SOE offices, 22 Greencoat Place, London, SW1P 1PR on June 26th and 27th 2007
They say that, "Full and accurate evidence collection can be vital in assessing whether or not there is liability and assists making timely decisions on whether to fight or settle a legal case. The course will develop your knowledge of law, evidence and procedure to ensure you can gather, and produce, relevant and admissible evidence.
"Written evidence frequently fails to include the essential evidence that is needed to prove or disprove a claim or prosecute or defend in the case of criminal proceedings. Excellent written evidence will often mean that a witness will not have to give evidence or that the case will settle rather than going to trial.
"This two day course will:
• Give you the skills to collect and produce admissible evidence to best practise standards
• Provide you with relevant, up-to-date knowledge of current legislation
• Offer you an insight into the procedure a witness goes through
• Teach you how to recognise different types of evidence, including, oral, documentary, hearsay, circumstantial and real
• Learn how that evidence may be used in proceedings
• Give you first hand experience of cross-examination so you understand the importance of exact record keeping.
