Southern Manufacturing & Electronics 2012 is the UK's largest regional manufacturing technology, electronics and subcontracting exhibition.
This year the event will include a free technical seminar programme which will host two days of presentations examining the technical topics and business issues affecting manufacturers and engineers today.
The programme sees the welcome return of Alan Ward from Bang Creations and his popular workshop Designing for Commercial Success. Also returning by popular demand, Grant Baker from the Manufacturing Advisory Service – South East (MAS-SE) will advise delegates How to Succeed at Product Development.
In Advanced Materials & Composites, Neil Hopkinson, Professor of Manufacturing Engineering, Martin Highett from the Mercury Centre at the University of Sheffield, and Dr. Alma Hodzic, Director of Composite Systems Innovation Centre, will show how UK manufacturers are creating innovative solutions using new materials and the wealth of opportunities being created in aerospace, automotive, Formula One, military and medical applications.
Practical business advice is also available over the two day programme: In Doing Business Abroad, Dermot Shean from UKTI takes delegates through the first steps in expanding your business overseas. Selling to the Energy Sector delivers practical advice on becoming a commissioned supplier. Supply Chain & SC21 examines how to get the best value from purchasing supply chain improvements in the aerospace and automotive sectors.
Further sessions look at Quality Assurance, CE Marking, Lean and Six Sigma, effective marketing, how to improve efficiency in the work place and many more.
