A powerful coupling for diesel applications and mobile construction
KTR's BoWex-ELASTIC HE is a highly flexible flange coupling capable of transmitting power up to 20.000 Nm with significant damping qualities well suited to the mobile construction industry and applications such as diesel generators and biogas plants.
BoWex-ELASTIC HE is a highly flexible flange coupling series developed by KTR. The BoWex HE not only transmits the existing torque reliably, but also compensates for misalignment in the drive train of combustion engines via the effective inclusion of natural rubber within the design. A highly reliably and effective design, combined with great consideration for choice of material costruction, has allowed the KTR's BoWex HE to achieve a high level of performance with significant damping qualities.
The Bowex HE design has already established it's value in the mobile construction industry, satisfying specific customer requirements over a considerable range of diesel applications. Most recently, the design dimensions of the HE have increased to include three more sizes for high performance ranges.
In the future, these flexible flange couplings will be able to transmit a torque of up to 20.000 Nm and, therefore, will be well suited for use on diesel generators, biogas plants and other high-power stationary and mobile drive systems.
The coupling hubs are based on the well-known and approved BoWex curved tooth design , pioneered by KTR over 50 years ago! This tried and tested design feature enables the BoWex couplings to compensate for high misalignment while reducing wear and increasing service life. Also, flange dimensions of the extended range will continue to follow the usual SAE dimensions and, upon request, KTR will work with customers to realize special solutions without adapters.
One of the benefits of BoWex-ELASTIC HE is the ability of axial plug-in which ensures an easy assembly. Particularly important for the large series is the optimised use of natural rubber. Intelligent design methodology and KTR's extensive experience with the development of vibration-damping couplings, enable KTR to achieve optimum figures of damping and stiffness with a relatively low quantity of this valuable material required.
