The new polypropylene seals were designed with tensile strength key to security success, and were put through rigorous testing on packages shipped globally to ensure they maintained their structural integrity and tamper proof ratings. The seals were developed in conjunction with two major logistics firms that sent 100 million units into circulation. As of August 2022, Essentra began substituting the parts into its existing supply chain at no additional cost to customers.
Essentra Components' substitution programme has helped its customers reduce their carbon footprint organically, without any extra investment being needed. By using recycled material in our seals, Essentra estimates it will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by over 1000 tonnes of CO2e per year.
Further security seal product ranges are also progressing through development phases and will be launched through 2023.
