New material, High Density Calcium Silicate has been launched by Goodfellow to ensure customers still have access to a material which has high-quality thermal and electrical insulation characteristics for high temperature applications following the discontinuation of Duratec® 750. Relevant applications include use in chemical plants, refineries and electric power plants.
High Density Calcium Silicate has a maximum service temperature of 1000 oC, is machinable and is asbestos free, which means it is non-hazardous.
The new material can be machined to tight tolerances using carbide-tipped tooling. As was the case with Duratec® 750, High Density Calcium Silicate is offered as machined components as well as sheets and rods.
