Modlink MSDD - communicate with front panel interfaces
Modlink MSDD interfaces make it easy to access controls in the cabinet when the time comes for in-plant or machinery diagnostics and servicing. With Modlink MSDD the cabinet can remain closed and the components inside can continue to operate with their required level of protection. This will also ensure you maintain compliance with all necessary safety regulations.
EN 60204-1, a new machinery directive, requires that outlets with a nominal current of up to 20A must be protected by a GFCI. With Modlink MSDD this isn't a problem. Simply snap the appropriate EL circuit breaker into the frame. Then, if the switch trips, it can be reset without having to open the cabinet.
Available with plastic cover or a full metal housing, Modlink MSDD is suitable for applications in a wide variety of environments. The locking mechanism on the frame meets IP65 requirements making the parts resistant to dirt, dust and humidity. To make sure the lid is always closed when the connections are not in use Modlink MSDD is designed with a spring mechanism that lifts an unclosed lid. When unlatched, the lid automatically pops up. This allows you to see at a glance that the lid is open and reminds you to close it when finished.
The modular system is based on a two parts: frames and inserts. The over 4000 combinations of frames and inserts allow manufacturers to react to country specific requirements without having to rework the size of the housing each time. The dimensions of both remain standard across the product line no matter which insert you choose for your application. This makes it easy for designers and installers to work with Modlink MSDD.
