An example of Nylacast’s solution based approach is our winch wheel product. Found in various kinematic equipment applications, its purpose is to handle rope safely and the strain of heavy loads. Steel is traditionally used for winch wheels however over time steel is likely to corrode, causing increased rope wear and frequent maintenance or replacement.
Nylacast’s winch wheel alternative, engineered from polymer materials technology performs the same task whilst being completely corrosion resistant and dimensionally stable. Ensuring that maintenance or replacement requirements on both ropes and the wheel itself are kept to a minimum.
An additional benefit to using polymer is that it is 1/7th of the weight of steel. Making at height installations, transport and installation much easier and saves time. If a machine has multiple winch wheels this weight saving will demonstrates a significant reduction in overall machine weight, enhancing efficiency and performance by reducing power requirements for the same force to pull a heavy load.
