Conveyor brackets offer fast belt release for washdowns
A unique quick-release assembly bracket for belt conveyors has been developed that should prove useful in food processing and packaging applications, writes Dean Palmer
A novel, quick-release assembly bracket has been developed that works with belt conveyors and enables companies to build belt conveyors faster and to rapidly release the belts to gain easy access for maintenance and washdown purposes.
BDL Drum Motors of Corby, better known for pioneering the development and manufacturing of motorised drums for materials handling applications, developed the quick-release brackets to help its customers reduce downtime on their production lines and to make the building of belt conveyors faster and easier.
BDL's customers range from airport baggage handling to food processing, pharmaceutical and packaging firms. The brackets are precision laser cut from non-corrosive stainless steel and are securely fitted to the conveyor bed and pulleys. The motorised drums simply lock into position.
No special assembly tools are required and the simple, 'snap-on' design provides for self-alignment and tensioned belt conveyor assembly.
The unique quick-release bracket sets are available from £85 per set to fit motorised drum diameters of 80mm, 113mm and 135mm.
The brackets can be supplied with idler pulleys and IP66 rated BDL motorised drums, which are sealed for life and maintenance-free, reducing the risk of contamination and also enabling easy access for high pressure washdowns.
