Telemecanique's Altivar 31 range of drives should offer users easy and inexpensive integration with modern fieldbus automation systems and the smaller size of the drive should also lead to a saving on costly panel space. The drives come in two versions: customisable and kit form. Custom versions are available in single phase (up to 3kW) and three phase (up to 5kW) and comprise a drive mounted in a customisable IP55 enclosure. There is also extra space available for customers to add switch disconnectors, circuit breakers, pilot lights, switches and the like. For OEMs that want to build the drive into their own equipment, Altivar 31 is also offered in kit form. This includes the drive chassis and a separate, external heatsink, which can be mounted either directly on the chassis or outside the enclosure. Single phase kits are offered up to 3kW and three phase is available up to 20kW. Class A EMC filters are provided as standard and feature 'plug-and-drive' technology combined with auto-tuning to ensure easy set up and optimised operation. Enhanced configurations of the drive include brake logic, plus/minus speed control, logic inputs with variable assignments and a PI regulation function.
