Conductive coatings offer high shielding performance
Chomerics Europe has introduced two electrically-conductive acrylic coatings designed for application onto plastic housings to provide EMI/RFI shielding.
Cho-Shield 2040 is silver-filled material that provides shielding performance of >75dB and Cho-Shield2044 uses a nickel filler to achieve >60dB shielding; both between 80MHz and 10GHz. The materials are both durable and provide high levels of abrasion resistance making them suitable for use in equipment that is likely to be operated in harsh environments.
