Differential pressure sensor with extended range for medical ventilation
Sensirion has launched the SDP2108-R, a high quality sensor solution for measuring air flows in medical ventilation applications. The differential pressure sensor in the SDPx108 range is said to combine high speed and accuracy with an extended measuring range of 0 to 3500 Pa.
The sensor is fully calibrated, temperature compensated, has a response time of 8ms, and provides an analogue output signal from 0 to 4V. The root square output is said to enable accurate measurements at small differential pressure levels, while allowing the sensor to cover a wide dynamic measuring range.
The sensor utilises the principle of thermal flow measurement to achieve sensitivity and accuracy even with small differential pressures. Unlike membrane type differential pressure sensors, the SDP2108-R has been designed to exhibit high stability and freedom from zero point drift.
