Lifting operations are said to be safer and more accurate due to a minimum speed of 0.25m/min, VARIO enables less experienced operators to manipulate loads with no risk of damage.
With VARIO the life span of equipment is claimed to be increased. Continuous speed control reduces mechanical shock by means of gradual starts and smoother halts. The reduction in the number and level of shocks to which the crane components or structure are subjected increases the life span of the frame. Continuous speed control enables the use of the electric brake during deceleration before application of the mechanical brake. Electrical braking reduces brake wear because the mechanical brake is only used when stationery.
VARIO is said to be designed to ensure maximum safety for the operator. The standard version is fitted with a hoist load wheel concept with intermediate teeth for the drive chain, a Start/Stop palm button on the control box, a hoist disc brake, an electric safety limit switch for high and low positions and it complies with the EC directive relating to machinery. Lubricated for life to reduce maintenance, the EUROCHAIN VR gear reducer is calculated for very long operating periods of up to 3200 hours. High precision machining on the gear trains is claimed to ensure a noise pollution level of 70dBA.
VARIO has a modifiable ramp acceleration/deceleration time, supervised brake control, a slip control system with torque limiter and an electronic load sensor ensuring overload prevention. In its standard version, VARIO is also fitted with a load shock controller, an hour meter and a start meter together with a 50% active buffer system to offset the polygon effect.
