Hybrid brake pedal
Trelleborg Automotive has launched a new lightweight hybrid brake pedal, which is said to offer significant cost savings as well as a reduction in CO2 emissions.
The brake pedal is a blend of glass fibre reinforced plastic and metal, and, according to Trelleborg, delivers a weight saving of between 30 and 50% compared to traditional metal brake pedals.
The new pedal is also said to enable cost savings as a result of a more efficient production process that ensures faster assembly of the final product.
