Incremental encoder range upgraded
German encoder designer Wachendorff Automation has upgraded the WGD range of incremental encoders and relaunched the 58mm diameter devices as the WDGI family. The parts now boast an extended temperature range, higher maximum output pulse frequencies and increased axial and radial load capacities for heavy duty versions.
The WDGI encoders, available from Variohm EuroSensor, offer the option of working at pulse output frequencies of up to 600kHz (TTL) or 2MHz (HTL). Combined with incremental resolutions from 1200 to 25000 pulse/rev, measurement accuracy is increased at high throughput rates. Meanwhile, the heavy duty WDGI58D variant offers up to 25% higher potential bearing load than its predecessor, with a permissible rating of 500N in axial and radial load directions.
Designers can specify synchro, clamp or square flange mounting for shaft and hollow shaft designs, with a choice of axial and radial load ratings on appropriately sized stainless steel shafts. IP67 protection is standard for the housings, with IP65 for shaft sealing. IP67 shaft sealing is an option on some models. Output options cover TTL, RS422, HTL and 1Vpp sin/cos, whilst input power options include all common DC voltages.
