Inductive sensors target extreme applications
Offered as a robust alternative to electromechanical switchgear, Steute's 3-wire DC sensors have been specially designed extreme environments.
The devices have a PNP semiconductor output and switch very reliably, almost independently of the ambient conditions. Their high switching interval permits universal use. Switching status is shown by an LED.
The sensor housings, in sizes M8, M12, M18 and M30, are available in a choice of stainless steel or nickel-plated brass. Customers can choose between versions with connectors or cables, and between protection classes IP 67 or IP 68.
The sensors have been adapted for use in extreme environments - for example particularly low (down to -40°C) or high (up to 120°C) temperatures.
The company also offers 2-wire NAMUR versions approved for Ex-zones 0 and 20.
To facilitate integration of the sensors into the control system of the machine or plant, intrinsically safe switch amplifiers with ATEX and IECEx approvals are available.
