Low friction engine seal helps reduce energy use and CO2
SKF's new low friction engine seal is designed to reduce friction by up to 55%, providing CO2 savings of more than 1g per kilometre.

The new module has a low friction elastomer lip design which is based on the wafer technology used for PTFE shaft seals.
However, it is made up of a specially formulated FKM material that is engineered with improved compression set and relaxation properties, which is said to result in better performance without the added cost of a mechanical spring.
