The FAG TORB range of toroidal rolling bearings is manufactured to Schaeffler’s X-life standard. The bearings are single row rolling bearings with long, slightly spherical rollers, enabling the FAG TORB to combine the angular adjustment capabilities of a spherical roller bearing with the axial displacement capabilities of a cylindrical or needle roller bearing. This means the bearings are suitable for a variety of industrial applications, including steel rolling mills, belt and conveyor systems, paper machines, marine drives, turbomachinery used in power generation, textile machines, crushers, food processing machines, and agricultural machinery.
The FAG TORB bearings are available in two versions: as full complement bearings or as a caged version. When the design envelope is restricted, the caged bearing provides high radial load carrying capacity, even when skewing or axial displacements need to be compensated for.
Interchangeability with previous bearing designs is also provided, as FAG TORB bearings are manufactured to the same ISO dimensions as spherical and cylindrical roller bearings that are used as non-locating bearings.
