“Once the actuators are installed and fully retracted, you only need a Thomson control that will automatically synchronise the units,” explained Chad Carlberg, product line manager for linear actuators at Thomson. “Simply press the extend button and the combined actuators will extend together.” In the video, Carlberg also explains that the units can be ordered with and require a Thomson digital feedback option, which allows for the synchronisation of two or four units.
Thomson WhisperTrak linear actuators are designed to enable machine builders with greater flexibility for a range of applications, including personal mobility, medical, rehabilitation, office and residential automation. The actuators include an IP67 environmental rating and are able to operate in harsh conditions where they are exposed to washdown, rain and dust without the use of an additional cover. The solution is maintenance free and has an average life of 10,000 cycles at the maximum load capacity.
