Part of the e-spool energy supply system, e-spool power is fitted with an electric motor and electronic control system with limit switches, to drive and control the standard e-chain to travel lengths of up to 50m. The twisterband connects the roll to the shaft block, which acts as the interface to the permanently installed cables.
Telescopic, lighting beams and indoor cranes are typical applications, and e-spool power can also be a space-saving alternative to zig-zag applications and removes the tensile loading on the cables and hoses housed within the e-chain.
E-spool power is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, even at temperatures below freezing point. The unit has also undergone rigorous testing at the igus laboratory under extreme conditions to ensure a predictably long service life, due to the design of the retraction system and motor.
