Polymer bearings withstand high temperatures, extreme wear
Plastics expert igus UK has added two new tribo-polymer protective bearings to its xiros family of polymer ball bearings.
The F180 is a conductive polymer which effectively protects from ESD and is able to bear temperatures up to 80°C.
The D180 is said to be four times more wear resistant than the general purpose corrosion-proof xirodur, and is also extremely resistant to high rotation speed.
