An engineered design approach to your applications

At Nylacast Engineered Products, we pride ourselves in delivering highly innovative engineered solutions to key global industries.

With full control of the production process, from raw chemicals to end products, we work closely with our clients to understand full application needs and requirements.

As a result, working with our clients during the design phase we can provide holistic engineering solutions from concept and design to delivery, with a unique ability to custom formulate materials.

Below are just a few examples of the various engineered solutions we have designed with, and for, our customers:

Nylacast Chockliner®

Problem: Demand for low friction & corrosion-resistant product to protect mooring against the arduous environments faced in the marine and shipping industry. Traditional chocks cause constant damage to costly fibre ropes, potential for ropes to fray or snag also presented a serious Health & Safety Issue.

Solution: Custom manufactured from initial chemistry to product, the patented Nylacast Chock Liner was developed to increase the performance and efficiency of mooring operations worldwide. The custom-formulated polyamide 6 material, coupled with the patented product design results in an easily installed and retrofitted liner, delivering a significant reduction in rope wear, abrasion, and tearing. It also provides better equalisation of mooring loads, in addition to greatly reducing the need for routine and costly maintenance.

Rope Handling & Protection Components

Problem: A need for improved lifting, health & safety and a reduced rate of rope damage.

Solution: Nylacast designed and manufactured rope handling products (Winch spooning shells and Sheaves & Pulleys) that are corrosion-resistant, lightweight and low friction. Resulting in an increased safety for personnel when operating equipment.

Ultimately, this had a great knock-on effect by driving efficiency and cost-saving as the material qualities extend the life of mating ropes, reducing both maintenance and replacement costs.
