Configurable DC motors and gearheads from maxon motor

The maxon DCX series is being expanded to include two new DC motors.

The first is a shorter version of the DCX 10L, aptly named the DCX 10S. Like all motors in the DCX series, the unit offers high density and low vibration. In addition, it exceeds the 1Nm threshold during continuous use and offers mechanical output power of up to 1.4W in a 10mm diameter. Noise output is rated at 35dBA. The second device being launched by maxon is the DCX 22L, which is a longer version of the DCX 22S. The brushed DC motor has a diameter of 22mm and is said to offer the same power as its predecessor, but with 30% less volume and weight. In addition to the new DC motors, maxon has also expanded its GPX gearhead family to include two new devices. The GPX 22C is an optimised version of the GPX 22 which features ceramic axes for improved performance data and life span. Although the same size as its predecessor, the unit is said to provide approximately 20% higher torques. Also being introduced is a low noise version of the GPX 22. The GPX 22LN has special plastic planet gears in the input stage which maxon says reduces operating noise by 5dBA.
