£1m boost for UK’s Motorsport Valley
The Technology Strategy Board has pledged £1million of R&D funding to companies in the UK's Motorsport Valley.
The funding competition is being chaired by the Motorsport Industry Association (MIA). To enter, companies simply need to submit a two minute video application by 31 July. Successful applicants will then have to complete a short written application by 18 September.
Chris Aylett, ceo of the MIA, said: "This Motorsport Valley Launchpad fund is welcome news, and further evidence of the growing stature and momentum of the UK motorsport sector, now being recognised by other industries and central government alike.
"It is just the kind of positive, practical, no-frills support UK motorsport SMEs enjoy best - just a two minute video application and simple to follow rules. The competitive element is second nature to this cluster of world class, winning engineers, so let battle commence!"
All UK motorsport engineering companies are invited to attend an information and briefing of the Motorsport Valley Launchpad at Silverstone on 3 July. More details about the competition can be found at www.the-mia.com.
