Autodesk to buy Delcam for £172.5m
Delcam, the UK-based CAM software specialist, is set to be acquired by Autodesk for around £172.5million.
Headquartered in Birmingham, Delcam's range of design, manufacturing and inspection software provides automated CADCAM solutions for a variety of industries, including automotive and aerospace.
The company, which has more than 30 offices worldwide and approximately 700 employees, will now become a subsidiary of Autodesk.
Commenting on the acquisition, Carl Bass, Autodesk's president and ceo, said: "We are taking an important step on our path towards delivering a better manufacturing experience.
"Together Autodesk and Delcam will help further the development and implementation of technology for digital manufacturing."
