Wharton will be giving his view on the state of the region and why it is important for people in industry to not just get behind the movement, but to get involved within it. He will speak about the value that the Northern Powerhouse represents and his hopes for future growth.
Other highlights from the extensive list of speakers include Hitachi Rail discussing the setting up of its £83million super-factory in the North East; and Nissan UK investing in Sunderland for high quality automotive manufacturing among many others.
This free two-day event was created specifically for the needs of production, maintenance, design engineering and management professionals from all market sectors across the North of England and Scotland. It is the only event in the region entirely dedicated to the needs of design engineering and manufacturing professionals both locally, or those that want to gain a valuable foothold in the area.
Since its inception last year, MENE has gained significant traction, with more than 1300 delegates attending the inaugural event and picking up three awards including a prestigious Exhibition News award in the Rising Star show category.
Despite the awards however, the organisers are keen to emphasise that at the heart of any exhibition are the visitors. Engineers, managers, manufacturers and innovators are encouraged to take a day out of the office to see what their business has to gain.
Steven Lockhart, now a technical support engineer at Sealing Systems in Scotland, said on visiting the show in 2015: “The event showcased the confidence and buoyancy being shown in the region, once again it’s becoming a worldwide manufacturing and engineering centre of excellence.”
Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of this vibrant showcase and be sure to come along with problems to solve and design challenges to overcome and actively seek out solutions at this lively event.
