The UK-based business, which is able to turn around pieces in very short timescales including set up and production, is now producing tens of thousands of ventilator components – a process which sees its specialist photo chemical etching equipment producing precisely engineered parts for ventilator manufacturers across Europe who are supporting the fight against COVID-19.
Mick Taylor, Commercial Director at Precision Micro, said: “Since the international response to the outbreak of Coronavirus escalated and health services have needed to quickly increase their capacity of vital medical equipment, we have seen a number of our manufacturing customers turning their facilities over to the production of ventilators. As part of that supply chain, we too have needed to demonstrate we can create essential components quickly and reliably, meeting that surge in demand.
“We’re proud to be playing our part in this global effort and have realigned part of our production to accommodate critical medical parts which require a high level of expert precision engineering. As a key part of these critical supply chains we want other manufacturers to know we’re here to help if and where we can.”
With unprecedented global demand for ventilators, Precision Micro’s photo chemical etching process enables the company to respond quickly to surges in demand and repeatedly produce accurate and reliable components without compromise. As a long-term supplier of components to the medical industry, Precision Micro is also certified to ISO 13485 – the internationally recognised system for medical device manufacturers.
Producing millions of precision etched items every year, from safety-critical automotive components through to high-performance parts for the aerospace industry, Precision Micro develops complex, burr and stress-free parts to the most exacting specifications.
