The Manufacturing Champion Award celebrates the achievements of individuals who have made a significant contribution to UK manufacturing.
He is now eligible for the national title, which will be announced at an awards gala dinner in April. Roger Evans commented: "This award is testament to my team as much as me. It recognises the importance of people in the manufacturing sector and the difference they can make, and I am absolutely delighted to have won."
Schaeffler UK's manufacturing plant in Llanelli, South Wales produces precision engine components. It was established in 1957 and employs 250 people including an annual intake of four apprentices.
Chris Meldrum, regional sales director of invoice finance at Aldermore, sponsor of the Manufacturing Champion Award, added: "British manufacturing needs ambitious leaders to drive economic growth and promote manufacturing success.
