LDS approached locally based company M-Technic Engineering and Fabrication who designed and manufactured the raw steel penguins. M-Technic have in house design, laser profiling and CNC engineering milling and turning.
Amtech Rapid Prototyping were supplied with laser cut and welded steel penguins and these needed finish painting black with the chest white and the eyes red. For the Vedett bottle we took a production glass bottle and sliced it down the centre then filled the half to make it flat on the back...We used this half bottle as a master was then made into a silicone tool and castings were taken in a bottle green PU plastic. Each casting was mounted to LED lights and fastened to the penguin’s chest which looked great with the company logo 'Vedett Extra Blond’ the taps are now being used all over the country.
