County Durham company Angels Tear Vodka was making a successful entry into the top end alcohol drinks market but this premium product was missing something, a stylish ice bucket was needed to help the product stand out.
The company approached locally based Amtech Rapid Prototyping with no more than a couple of sketches and the experienced team at Amtech RP engaged Stuart Hogarth from Red Fox Design to validate and finish off the design. CAD data was supplied to Amtech RP and they made an SLA, painted with a textured finish. This was then made into a silicone tool and castings were taken in a clear PU plastic. Each casting producing 30/35 parts before a new mould was made. The ice bucket was than hand painted on the outside and applied a dry rub down with the company logo 'Angels Tear Vodka'. The buckets are now being used all over the country.
