Spring Fever? New Metric sizes of REDUX™ Wave and Torsion Springs available now from Lee Spring
Just out is the new REDUX™ Wave Spring mini-catalogue as well as new data on the augmented Torsion spring selection from Lee Spring. Available in print from stand 4315, Hall 4 at the MACH show, NEC, from 16-20 April.*
The REDUX™ family as well as the Torsion Spring series are the latest product lines, now available in Metric wire from Lee Spring. New 2012 additions bring the total stock range to around 19,000 spring product types.
"The world increasingly speaks one measurement language and that is metric," comments Chris Petts, Managing Director. "Although our current catalogue and website displays our designs in both inch and metric, customers increasingly request more 'hard' metric designs and submit prints only in metric." The two new Metric lines feature over 350 Metric REDUX™ Wave Spring designs in 17-7 Stainless Steel and over 750 Metric Torsion Springs, in a choice of either zinc plated music wire or passivated 302/304 stainless steel.
Aside from the Metric v Inch debate, size is of concern to customers for other reasons. As assemblies continue to get smaller, so does the requirement for products that work within reduced spatial parameters. Wave Springs occupy 30-50% of the compressed height space of comparable round wire springs, offering equal deflection with the same load specifications. Belleville washers are designed to support high loads with relatively small deflections and solid heights.
