The MAC1500 is a decentralised drive that is said to offer simplified installation with reduced wiring. Users can choose ±10V or pulse/direction for speed or torque control from a central motion controller, or select optional programmable expansion modules that include industrial Ethernet protocols for synchronised multi-axis motion like Profinet, EtherCAT, and Ethernet/IP as well as other fieldbus protocols such as CANopen, DeviceNet, and Profibus. A choice of absolute or incremental encoder is available whilst an on-board IOs offer possibilities for high speed position registration and general machine control interaction.
The MAC1500 is available in an aluminium housing with protection ratings to IP67. The integrated servo is built to withstand the typical temperatures and vibration levels for industrial use. A choice of high-reliability worm, planetary and cycloidal gear units for use with the MAC1500 are available from McLennan. The range includes special versions for high axial and radial shaft loads, sealed bearing and low backlash designs.
