The bodies, manufactured by hydroforming technology, are claimed to fulfil the globally established ASME-PBE standard regarding dimensions and tolerances, as well as the EHEDG requirements regarding hygienic design. With a lightweight, sustainable, and hygienic design the tube valve bodies are said to compensate the weaknesses of forged and cast valve bodies.
The housings are manufactured from a high-quality stainless steel tube, like the other plant or system lines. This enables hygienic tube-to-tube welding of virtually identical materials, through which a uniformly high quality of weld seam is said to be ensured. Compared with cast bodies neither cavities nor other defects are claimed to occur in the manufacturing process, which means the risk of contamination is minimised.
Through the processing of high-quality tubes in combination with hydroforming technology, it is possible to manufacture variants that are as much as 75% lighter than forged housings. The manufacturing process is also designed to be more environmentally-friendly. When manufacturing a DN 25 cast valve body, almost 7000g of CO2 are released; the value for the Bürkert tube valve body is just over 2000g.
The tube valve bodies are available in the welding connection sizes ½, ¾, 1, 1½ and 2 inches with the Bürkert diaphragm valve types 2031 and 3233.
