PoE Switch features 48V power boost
Korenix UK has introduced a full Gigabit Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) switch.
The industrial-grade, 6-port JetNet 3906G-w provides embedded 48V DC boosting, making it suitable for advanced on-board vehicle IP surveillance, transportation and industrial automation applications.
It is also suitable for Mega Pixel IP camera surveillance applications in harsh industrial environments and transportation.
The switch offers a wide ambient operating temperature range of -40 to 75°C. With its 12 to 36V DC PoE boost, the company says it enables the use of PoE and higher rate PoE, as well as 48V DC.
The embedded DC booster accepts DC power at 12 or 24V and then boosts this voltage up to 48V, while still providing PoE capability.
As standard PoE installations typically require a separate 48V DC inverter, the JetNet 3906G-w can be supplied as a single-box solution, saving installation space while still reducing associated cabling and wiring costs.
