Tapered roller bearing cuts fuel cost for heavy trucks
The E2 TRB from SKF is a high efficiency tapered roller bearing designed for truck final drive applications.
The device is said to reduce friction, lower fuel consumption and cut emissions in heavy trucks. Typical fuel savings are slated as 0.15 litres per 100km.
SKF says the new bearing includes fewer rollers, improved roller topography and modified raceway profiles. The module is interchangeable with the company's current standard tapered roller bearings.
