PCAP touchscreen technology is highly sensitive, highly reliable, and able to support multiple touches. Popularised by consumer devices, the technology is now migrating to industrial applications, especially in Industry 4.0.
The PCAP touch solution will initially be available in display sizes, including 7, 10.4 and 12.1’’. The touchscreen surface is said to feature anti-glare and anti-fingerprint treatments and offers the option of either I2C or USB touch interface. All three products incorporate Advanced Wide View technology and achieve 170° viewing angles from both vertical and horizontal directions.
Kyocera says that the PCAP LCD displays can be incorporated into compact equipment designs, as no additional components are required to drive the backlights. Kyocera’s constant current, high-efficiency LED driver circuit is integrated into the LCD module, providing the backlighting with an LED lifetime of 70,000 hours. All three products feature standard LVDS interface, and an operating temperature range of -30 to 80°C.
