Computational modelling is often used for design optimisation, providing answers to design questions such as "how should material be distributed within a given space to maximise heat transfer?" Design optimisation can be carried out as a process of iterative refinement by an engineer or designer, based on their interpretation of the modelling results, or it can be automated, so that an optimisation solver determines the optimal design based on objectives given by the user.
In this webinar, we will present the different optimisation solvers available in the COMSOL Multiphysics® software and how they can be used for parameter optimisation, shape optimisation and topology optimisation. There will also be a demo of how to set up and run a given design optimisation problem in COMSOL Multiphysics®.
Attendees will learn:
- Understand design optimisation in computational modelling
- Ways of approaching different design optimisation problems
- How to set up and run optimisation models in COMSOL
